Suwanan Kerdtewa is from Thailand. She obtained her DVM from Kasetsart University, Thailand, in 2021, and then started work as a veterinary officer in epidemiology section at National Institute of Animal Health (NIAH) under the Department of Livestock Development, Thai Government. Her job was to collect the data from laboratory results, then analyze and study the patterns of diseases and use this information to make laboratory surveillance plans and control measures. Suwanan has experience working with various types of animals, such as poultry, ruminants (cows, cattle, buffalo, and goats), horses, pigs, wildlife (elephants, tigers, and monkeys), and aquatic animals. Her area of interest is animal diseases (not species-specific) laboratory-based surveillance, molecular epidemiology, her health, herd immunity, one health, and zoonoses. In her free time, Suwanan enjoys traveling to National Parks. She loves hiking and camping, and sometimes goes on solo road trips because she loves to drive.
