Atika Marwa
Atika Marwa was born in Tangerang and raised in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. She earned her bachelor of veterinary medicine at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and participated as a laboratory teaching assistant in the Veterinary Microbiology Department during her third year. Then, she obtained her DVM degree from Gadjah Mada University in 2020. After graduation, she did small animal practice and was involved as a Research Assistant in a veterinary pharmaceutical industry named PT. Tekad Mandiri Citra in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia where she learned about molecular techniques in the detection of animal diseases. For the MPVM project, her topic focused on infectious diseases which have a potential risk of zoonosis. Upon completing the MPVM program, she looks forward to contributing as a researcher or academia and applying the One Health principle to coordinate and collaborate in preventing, detecting, and responding to emerging infectious diseases.
