Guillermo Arcega Castillo is from Mexico and studied Veterinary Medicine at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias Veterinarias, which is part of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California in the city of Mexicali. Since he graduated, it was his goal to get as much experience as possible before taking such a big step of starting the MPVM program. This journey led him from working in the area of food safety in a salmon company in Alaska to becoming a swine research intern in North Caroline and, most recently, being the clinic manager/anesthetist of a spay and neuter clinic in Arizona. His research interests include zoonotic diseases, public health, and the one health approach. For fun, he likes to do obstacle races and go fishing.
