Mehrnaz Niazi earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from Azad University in Iran, where she developed a strong passion for animal health and population medicine. Through her studies and experiences, she became increasingly interested in how data, research, and clinical knowledge can come together to prevent disease and improve the well-being of animal populations. This curiosity led her to explore preventive veterinary medicine and epidemiology as the path where she could make the biggest impact.

Inspired by her veterinary school mentor, an MPVM graduate who encouraged her to pursue this Yield, Mehrnaz decided to continue her journey at UC Davis. She is excited to expand her skills in epidemiology and disease prevention and hopes to contribute to advancing herd health and public health on a broader scale. In her free time, Mehrnaz enjoys cooking, painting, reading, and spending time with her dog, Lily. She also loves traveling, meeting new people, and exploring new cultures and cuisines.
