Lexi Durant

Lexi Durant is a veterinary student at UC Davis who is stepping out of the DVM program after her second year to complete the MPVM program before finishing her final two years of veterinary school. She is originally from San Diego, California and attended Washington University in St. Louis for college where she earned a degree in environmental biology. She spent two years as a research intern at the St. Louis Zoo collecting data for animal behavior projects and has since been involved in avian pharmacology projects at UC Davis and sea turtle disease research in Brazil. Lexi is primarily interested in wildlife conservation and ecosystem health. For her MPVM project, she will be working with Dr. Hawkins, the director of the California Raptor Center, on a retrospective study of raptor cases that have presented to the VMTH over the past 20 years. Outside of school, Lexi enjoys music, running, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
